Filing Insurance

We participate in many insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and most HMOs and PPOs in the area. We will file with the insurer for you. However, you remain personally responsible for any portion of the bill not covered by insurance. It is your obligation to thoroughly understand the coverage and exceptions of your particular policy. Patients having HMO and PPO plans that require a referral number must contact their Primary Care Physician (PCP) for that number prior to your visit. The insurance companies will not allow our office to contact your PCP for you. You will be responsible for all charges if you fail to obtain a referral number.

Laser Vision Correction is rarely covered by insurance. We recommend that you contact your insurance company prior to your visit to find out if Laser Vision Correction is a covered benefit. Financing is available to qualified candidates. Our Laser Vision Coordinator can help you find out about this option. Like any other medical related health condition, eye problems like infections or foreign bodies in the eye are usually covered by your medical insurance. Vision screenings for glasses or contacts as well as a portion of the glasses and contacts usually require additional vision coverage.
